FAQ's

How will Alternative Workflow help my business?

We think of our services as being an inside resource that you can use to create a more efficient workflow. This new workflow involves collaborating with an experienced, trusted professional who wants to help you and your business thrive. Consider us a part of your team!

Sending your editing, retouching, and/or album design to us means you'll be freeing up time in your schedule for other possibilities. Take a minute to think about how much time you spend behind a computer working on images. How would you rather use that time?

If you need suggestions, here are a few!

  • Marketing yourself and attracting new work
  • Starting that personal project that's been on your mind
  • Growing your business by exploring more markets
  • Enjoying time with family and friends guilt-free
  • Completing things on your to-do list
  • Practicing a new hobby
  • Experiencing peace of mind and stressing less

Can I afford to hire an editor?

Our prices are set with our clients in mind. We won't tell you whether or not you can afford us. That being said, we know you are running a business and hiring an employee to help with the workload may not be an option right now. We do our best to keep prices affordable and manageable for you. After all, our goal is to help you and your business be more successful.

When deciding whether you can afford to hire an editor, consider 2 things.

  1. MONEY (obviously...)
  2. TIME

There are only 24 hours in a day and you can only do so much work in that 24 hours.
If you are spending lots of time stressed out because you are stretched too thin, it is likely time for a solution. We know it isn't possible to create more hours in a day, but you can be more efficient with the time you have.

Also, your time is worth money. What we have found through conversations with photographers is that they are frequently underpaying themselves to do their own post-processing. As we all know, a photographer's job is not done after they click the button. However, you shouldn't feel like you have to chain yourself to your computer to finish a job. During the time you spend at your computer you could be generating more sources of income instead of working on post-processing.
Think of it as being in two places at once!

Will my work still look like my work?

Maintaining your style is our first priority during edits. Through open communication between you and your editor, we will make sure to dial in your style until you view it as your own work. If there is ever a point in which you feel your style is not being represented, we will make any adjustments necessary to finish the job.

What do I need to worry about, and how much of my time will it take?

You don't need to worry about anything except for sending us your digital files. We take care of the rest and send back high quality metadata files or JPGs depending on your preference.

The time you spend using your new workflow will be a fraction of the time that you would have otherwise spent processing the images.

What is the turnaround time?

Turnaround times are typically between 2-14 days depending on the volume of images sent.

If you have a specific turnaround time that works for you and your clients, we are happy to work it into our schedule with advance notice of the photo event.

What forms of payment are accepted?

When you receive an invoice, there are options for paying via ACH bank transfer or credit card. We are also happy to accept payment via check, Paypal or Venmo.

Will I be able to contact my editor directly?

We promise that you will always have direct contact with the person working on your images. Creating a relationship with your editor will ensure that you will feel comfortable asking questions and giving feedback directly to the same person looking at your images.
